About Us

Welcome to HSA - Hillsborough Survivors Support Alliance CIC

Who are we?

We’re an organisation that shouldn’t exist, but thankfully does. An organisation for survivors, run by survivors of the Hillsborough Disaster that occurred on April 15th 1989.  A registered company since Feb 2019 (Company Registration Number 11833734) we became a non-funded Community Interest Company (C.I.C) in June 2024. We rely completely on donations and funds raised by events organised by or on behalf of HSA to provide much needed therapy. For further information about HSA and its services, please contact us HERE

What do we do?

We offer help and support to ALL that need it and were affected by the events of the Hillsborough Disaster, including families. In partnership with fully qualified psychotherapists, we have developed a bespoke therapy designed specifically for people with complex PTSD resulting from the events that took place at Hillsborough in 1989. To date, nearly 400 people have benefitted from our therapy, which is known as HTRM, and we are fully inclusive, offering help and support to ALL those affected. Our therapy has been offered to Nottingham Forest fans and Sheffield Wednesday staff that were present on the day and overall, we have over 98% success rate. HSA also led the provision of therapy to those affected by the events at Stade de France in June 2022, working closely with the Liverpool FC Foundation and the FA. HSA have provided support to 35 people with our team of highly skilled therapists who deliver a range of therapies covering the more complex needs of long term of PTSD.

Why should people contact you?

HSA offers a secure space where people can talk openly and in confidence about their experience of Hillsborough, with likeminded people that shared an experience of the day. Sometimes, just being in the company of those that have a shared lived experience and be a massive help. If you, or anyone you know, still struggles with the after effects of Hillsborough or Stade de France, please contact us in confidence by using our support contact form HERE

Help is always available and we always welcome new members to HSA. Come and visit us in the Kop Bar before today’s game if you want to find out more, or to talk to us.
